Bantime Changes

We have changed the death ban time. Rather than a week, it is now set to only 24 hours. This is mainly due to the very small community, however I feel it should make it a more fun experience for everyone.

As for spawn protection, it is still currently disabled due to an issue where it spams users that someone has terminated their spawn protection, still not sure why.

Anyway, bans are reset and I hope you all have fun playing on Aetherstream.

Lots of new content, heres a list of whats new!

 

  • New World! (Hopefully) No chunk errors, Great landscapes, and a World Border to keep the server lag-free. (Dont worry, the border is very large.)
  • MCMMO! A skill-leveling system that also allows parties to be made to chat privately with party members and avoid accidental pvp damage to eachother.
  • Lots of tweaks to hopefully make the server run much smoother.
  • Teamspeak! Its a totally free voice chat program and you can connect with the IP: aetherstream.com:9888

We will hopefully soon also be adding Donor Packs, but we still have a lot of work to do on the server first, but it is up and running and waiting to be explored.

Map Reset/More Content!

This change will take effect sometime within the next week and now.

Hey, I know its pretty soon to be generating a new map, but I will apologize that we didn’t put a whole lot of thought into starting up the server on this map. The map is riddled with chunk errors and just has lots of issues. So, with a new map pre-generated, we decided to add some secrets throughout the map that we think will be fun when it gets released.

As for new content, we plan on adding a few new plugins that will give the players more features and smooth out the lag/gameplay a little more.
One of the new plugins should add quite a bit of fun to gameplay, as well as make PVP a lot more interesting. Its a pretty popular plugin called MCMMO.

Basically, MCMMO will add a leveling aspect to all of your skills. (They will not be powered down) They will increase in stats as you use them, and can even get some rare items easier. For instance, fishing can reel up lots of different items rather than just fish now, and the more you fish, the better stuff you can fish up.
MCMMO also allows users to party up, allowing a private party chat between anyone in the party, as well as disabling PVP against party members, to avoid accidentally hitting each other. (Party Teleport will be disabled though, sorry.)

Also considering adding Donator Packs, which will allow extra features (nothing overpowered). Will allow users to change their name color as well as use plugins like sign colors, etc… This will hopefully help us pay off/upgrade the server to make it an even more pleasant and fun experience for everyone who plays.

We are also hoping to pick up traffic to the server, but in order to do so, we need help from you guys!
We have just added the server to a couple Minecraft Server lists, and in order to get more popular, we need to be higher on the list. Players can vote daily, and we are planning on adding an instant buff in-game to anyone who votes. (probably mining haste or something, still working out the details.)

Finally, to leave off, here is a single screenshot of the new spawn. I was told the spawn was too big in the old map, so the spawn is very small, and all natural now.
